WWE Money in the Bank 2026 was horrible both in-ring and out of the ring creatively. The WWE product has been feeling increasingly frustrating to sit through lately. WWE Money in the Bank PLE was held in New Orleans, LA on October 10, 2026. This show did very little to change that narrative. Giving this show a generous 6 out of 10 feels about right. Largely because the in-ring action frequently struggled to find its footing. The creative decisions left a lot to be desired. Boy, the WWE is getting hard to watch.
Here is a match-by-match breakdown of how the night unfolded at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight (World Heavyweight Championship Match)
Kicking off the night at WWE Money in the Bank (2026) with a World Title match is always a bold choice. One that Roman Reigns wanted to do and Hunter agreed with. And while Roman Reigns and LA Knight worked hard to get the New Orleans crowd invested. Putting this in the opener took a noticeable amount of wind out of the building’s sails early on. Knight brought incredible energy and came close to pulling off the upset. However, Reigns ultimately weathered the storm. He hit a flurry of signature moves before putting Knight away with a spear to retain. The post-match chaos involving a parking lot brawl with the faction 946 tried to inject some chaotic excitement. Overall, it was a heavy-handed start to the evening.
Winner: Roman Reigns
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
This match showcased a lot of raw athletic potential with competitors like Sol Ruca, Lola Vice and Lash Legend. But it unfortunately devolved into a disjointed mess. The pacing felt clunky. With so many newer talents together, it was bound to be a hard watch. Tiffany Stratton was the veteran of the WWE Money in the Bank (2026) ladder match. The execution on several key spots suffered from poor timing and miscues. Stratton ultimately secured her second briefcase by knocking Lash Legend off the ladder. However, getting to that finish required sitting through a staggering number of clumsy sequences that exposed the inexperience of the broader field. I really couldn’t believe that WWE Creative decided to do this instead of putting veterans like Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Natalia to lead this match safely and smoothly.
Winner: Tiffany Stratton
Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed
A hoss fight between Oba Femi and “Big” Bronson Reed always sounds good on paper. These two laid into each other with heavy-hitting power moves. Femi remains immensely over with the fans. But WWE creative leaned a bit too heavy into cartoonish superhero tropes here. For instance, having Femi kick out of multiple brass knuckle shots and extreme impact spots felt excessive. Femi eventually bounced back to hit a massive Fall From Grace to pick up the win, but the booking felt heavy-handed.
Winner: Oba Femi
Liv Morgan vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Becky Lynch (Women’s World Championship Triple Threat Match)
Triple threat matches are supposed to feature constant frantic action, but this one often felt like a singles match with a third person randomly wandering in to break up pins. The chemistry between Lynch, Morgan, and Vaquer just never quite clicked. This was highlighted by awkward spots like a table bump to the outside that completely failed to break. Morgan opportunistically stole the victory by delivering an Oblivion to Vaquer while Becky Lynch was distracted. Morgan walked out of New Orleans with the gold in a match that lacked cohesive flow.
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Saving the best for last, the men’s ladder match easily took honors as Match of the Night. But it even suffered from a wildly convoluted setup. Featuring star power like CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and PENTA, the match delivered pure carnage. The absolute jaw-dropping highlight saw Breakker launch Evans off the top of a ladder straight through the roof of an ambulance parked near the stage. In the frantic final minutes, PENTA stopped Breakker in his tracks with a sickening Mexican Destroyer onto a ladder before climbing up to grab the briefcase.
Winner: PENTA
Final Unlocked Analysis: Botches and Misguided Creative
Looking at the event as a whole, it is hard to walk away without feeling exhausted by WWE’s current creative direction. The women’s division matches, in particular, were painfully rough around the edges. Between a lack of crisp execution, mistimed spots, and noticeable botches, the overall standard of those bouts felt far below a major PLE level. Coupled with confusing storytelling choices (like leaning into over-the-top superman booking and disjointed multi-person chemistry) it is easy to see why tuning into the weekly product feels increasingly like a chore. Outside of a thrilling men’s ladder match, WWE Money in the Bank 2026 underscored creative misfires that leave The Unlocked Info wondering when the booking will find its footing again.
